Our three-week summer program exposes students to the language
and lively culture of Mexico through study and travel.
Courses are held at the prominent University of Guadalajara, Mexico
where students attend classes Monday through Thursday. Classroom
activities are fun and focus on language and vocabulary students
can use in daily life. Students attend two classes:
Spanish Language:
Students are placed in classes according to their level of proficiency.
Mexican Culture:
Students study the Mexican culture in full, from history and government
to Mexican cuisine and folklore dance!!!
Students are housed at Moralva Suites, apartment style housing. It is just a ten-minute walk to the university. There are daily excursions to museums, historical sights and places of interest near the city such as Tonala, Tlaquepaque and the biggest lake in Mexico, Lake Chapala. There are also two weekend excursions to Puerto Vallarta and Guanajuato.
VEM is a one of a kind program that offers an opportunity for a unique well-rounded education.
Our Philosophy
Our world can be made better if today's youth learn to understand
and appreciate cultural and linguistic diversity. Young people
benefit from experiences which complement their classroom learning,
which help them develop an awareness of their role as global citizens,
and which instill in them an ability to enjoy and adapt to diversity
change. With this in mind, our goal is to promote cultural awareness
and enhance language learning through study and travel.
